LHRep29: Say Watt??

One of the coolest things about our rotating guest format is that, odds are, every once in a while we'll end up with someone who actually knows what they're talking about. For episode 29 of everyone's favourite audio iteration of our usual wacky Lost shenanigans, MenothJohn and Gdaybloke are joined by a guest known for his competitive acumen, so naturally we pick his brains while dealing with godawful satellite interwebs lag, and then call in a ringer late in the piece.

LHRep27: Palette Cleanser

Not long ago on the Lost Hemisphere blog we discussed the issue of game burnout and ways to avoid it; one method discussed is cleansing the palette - taking a brief hiatus from your normal hobby fascination, indulging in something else, and then coming back to your main game refreshed and revitalised.
In this episode of Lost Hemisphere Radio, aside from the usual Warmachine and Hordes mutterings, Gdaybloke spends some time with pals James and Kevin, taking an overview look at Spartan Games' three fleet games Uncharted Seas, Firestorm Armada and Dystopian Wars, and Soda Pop's super cute Super Dungeon Explore and impending Relic Knights.

LHRep26: DIECON and the Triune Podcast

Every once in a while the planets align in some sort of conjunction that some folks assign a mystical meaning to, and most of the rest of the world don't really seem to care about... now it's our turn! With Gdaybloke suffering from the dreaded lurgy, it's the return of the Fez, co-hosting with MenothJohn to bring Lost Hemisphere Radio and Fell Calls together once more... but the title of the episode says Triune, no? That means... Oh Dear Lord in Heaven, the Losties have shanghai'd someone from another Warmachine podcast as their guest! What could this mean? Well, let me put it to you simply: It means three hours of awesome. Strap yourself in, kids, this one's a long one! Download on iTunes or via the direct Linky!

LHRep24: NQ35 - The Aeryn Strikes Back

Hi. How are you? Did you miss us? We've been well, thank you. Yes, the weather has been rather mutable. At least we've been able to pass the time with a brand new No Quarter... Oh yeah, and editor Aeryn Rudel was kind enough to drop by for tea and elevenses. He totally brought a flan. It was very tasty. Ahem...

Yeah, that's right folks, the Lost Hemisphere boys are back to wander through No Quarter 35, seeing what we can squeeze out of Privateer staffer and No Quarter editor Aeryn. Who's really responsible for the Berserker MkII, Aeryn? And remember, you're under oath...

Join us as we discuss model previews, new theme forces, and find tease Aeryn about his closet Khadoran tendencies. Oh, and JDWhitee joins us after the break to share his insights on the Dawn's Talon and some other random malarky.

LHRep23: The Ugly Ducklings

We've been at this gig for almost a year now, and every step of the way we've managed to avoid 'em, but now MenothJohn and Gdaybloke finally turn their thoughts to the armies of Cygnar. Golden boy Stryker leads the charge as the Lost Hemisphere Lads and their special guest natter a tad about those who bear the Cygnus, toss out some 50pt army lists, and then bounce a few thoughts about the IK RPG as it stands, and some hopes for the future.

Tune in to enjoy Gdaybloke's pain as Cygnar dominates the podcast by downloading the episode on iTunes, or by clicking yon linkage: LINKAGE!

LHR ep22: Big Red War Machines

Return of the Bloke! That's right, the border police couldn't keep him away, and now that he's back in the Frozen North, it's only appropriate that we talk about the Frozen North! Yup, harkening back to the early days of LHR, MenothJohn and Gdaybloke drag a one of Ayn Vanar's military advisors from his war cabinet (which looks surprisingly like a drinks cabinet) to talk about Khador's evolution in MkII, and how to disassemble a Winterguard Death Star without needing to fire a torpedo down an exhaust port.

But wait, there's more! Gdaybloke gets to unload on some of his favourite moments of Templecon 2011, and since we're talking about giant warjacks, the lads track down the Holloway boys and make them spill the beans on constructing the Colossal scenario board at Templecon. What was it made of, why did it only have one arm, and just which of the two did all the hard work!

LHR ep21: Templecon 2011 & Gators

Ladies and Gentlelost, it's time to once more bend your delicate shell-like ears as we regale you with tales of adventure and derring-do in Rhode Island as Lost Hemisphere invades Templecon 2011! Think you can handle the awesomeness as MenothJohn takes control of the Good Ship LHR and covers for Gdaybloke's absence with a guest co-host? Who could it be? Well, if you gotta get a co-host for a Warmachine/Hordes podcast, why not shanghai one of the dudes who pioneered the concept? That's right, MenothJohn done found hi'self a Podthrall!

Ride with the boys as they ponder just how they survived 72 hours of non-stop gamery, whether or not Fez's are cool, and just for a lark, ripping Dicewraith out of his cocoon to talk about the Blindwater Congregation seemed like a great idea at the time. Oh, and just so you're not left completely high and dry when it comes to Gdaybloke's accent, turns out he managed to corner a few folk to chat with at Templecon, and the sneaky bugger managed to record the conversation...

LHR ep18: ChristmaTempleRahnisode

So what happens when Skype's outage scuppers our Christmas Rahn-themed episode and we really really want to talk about Templecon? Why, we just jam it all together! It's possibly our rambliest episode yet as we try to cram too much awesome into one episode, and stare aghast as it all detonates into pockets of nonsensical shenanigans!
MARVEL as Gdaybloke tries to kinda sorta follow an agenda! GASP as MenothJohn tries to adopt our guest! SNICKER as you imagine just how badly our guest will need to pee by the time it's all done!

LHR ep17: Aeryn Rudel and the Goblet of Fire

Today we bring you a super special slap-yo-gramma episode and who's on the grill? None other than Privateer Press' Gator-lovin' Aeryn Rudel, big head editor type dude of No Quarter, the periodical that portends perspicacity for the pernicious participant in Privateer's pastimes. Oh, we ramble about a few other things as well, but let's face it, it's all about Aeryn this time around.
Fair warning this episode did have a few technical difficulties, which I assure you we feel absolutely terrible about, but re-recording the episode would mean we'd have to come up with a whole new set of lightning round questions for Aeryn, and then you'd miss out on the original magic.

LHR ep15: The Hobby Side

We spend so much time working on miniatures before putting them on the tabletop, isn't it about time we talked about it? Join us for another episode of Lost Hemisphere Radio. This time Gdaybloke, MenothJohn and their special guest talk about painting, modding, sculpting - paintbrushes and power tools, people...
... oh, and we take a stroll through some new release news, stand in awe of the sheer audacity of those participating in Privateer's Impossible Dream challenge, and just for the halibut, review Fantasy Flight's Death Angel card game.

LHR ep14: Legion of Everblight Review

What's the best way to celebrate the release of Forces of Hordes: Legion of Everblight? Why, sitting down and listening to over two hours of MenothJohn, Gdaybloke, and their special guest going over new models and theme forces!

Join us as we revel in the niftiness that is the latest Hordes Mk II release, including much discourse on what's possibly the most innovative warlock in the game to date! Can Gdaybloke be bullied into making a Wizard of Oz Flying Monkeys list? Can MenothJohn find some real beer to drink? Can our guest survive all these shenanigans?? Oh, the humanity!

As always, find us on iTunes (and leave us a review!) or download directly right here.

LHRep11a: Warstore Weekend

Ah, dear listener, how we mourn Episode 11. You see, Episode 11 was the epitome of podcastery, with discussion of impending events, Summer Rampage, and other joyful verbal meanderings... but it was eaten by audio gremlins. So as not to leave you completely bereft of our voices, your noble hosts Gdaybloke and MenothJohn valiantly rescheduled their guest, fired up the mics and went for Round Two... but one of your hosts exploded in a puff of illogic and feathers. It was kinda pretty really.

Enjoy this shorter-than-usual episode as one of your beloved hosts rakes our guest over the coals to extract the secrets of the impending Warstore Weekend, Foodmachine, and a li'l announcement concerning Lost Hemisphere's planned shenanigans at our favourite convention, Templecon!

LHR ep10: Castigate This!

When MenothJohn's away, Gdaybloke will play! Well, will record another episode for your listening pleasure, at least. Tune in as Gdaybloke tries vainly to fill the gap left by MenothJohn's absence with a little dose of Moonova.

Not quite willing to let go of the Skorne yet, we once more visit the empire as Moonova natters about Xerxis, then we discuss Menite heavies and ponder the red-headed stepchild of the 8pt Protectorate warjacks, the Castigator - and Gdaybloke, addicted as he is to theme forces, postulates on using them with different casters as part of a smokescreen... or flamescreen, whatever.

LHR ep9: GenCon and Skorne

Those wacky lads MenothJohn and Gdaybloke are at it again, this with an overlength episode tackling both GenCon and the newly released Forces of Hordes: Skorne.

Who's the bigger masochist? Which beers are fueling our hosts and their unsuspecting guests? Gasp as they compare new releases! Wince as MenothJohn makes everyone drink! Shudder as the witty banter begins to show the effects of simultaneous late night podcasting and beverages!

Bear with us as we plow through two heady topics and leave Norbert wondering why, oh why, despite his super nice efforts, Henry is still Chris' favourite SOB...

Lost Hemisphere Radio ep8: Hordes MkII Primal

With the release of Hordes MkII: Primal, those of us who enjoy getting all feral and beastly on the tabletop finally get the update we've been waiting for in oh-so-pretty full colour splendiforousness.

Join Gdaybloke and MenothJohn as we speculate wildly about the fiction, the map, the possibilities for new factions, and wade through the factions, adoring the art and postulating on just which models most tickle our fancy.

As always, swing by the blog at http://losthemisphere.com, joins us on the forums, and generally have a good time. Pie for all!

Join John and Chris and two (two!) special guests as they discuss the brand spankin' new Forces of Warmachine: Cryx book, and marvel at the dizzying array of background noises!
Mysterious heavy breathing! Cat on a piano! Baby babble!
